Every year, hundreds of people participate in Harbor Hounds with dogs of all shapes, sizes and breeds. Or, maybe we should say, hundreds of dogs participate with people of all shapes, sizes and breeds.
Harbor Hounds is a day of fun with neighbors, family and your furry best friend and also give back to the community by supporting Midday Charity Foundation and The Rotary Club of Gig Harbor Midday community outreach projects and grants. This event includes a Vendor Scavenger Hunt, non-profits and merchant tents, food and ice cream trucks, face painting, and the ever-popular Dog Contests! Show off your pups talents! This Dog Contests area crowd favorite, presided over by our esteemed judge, Mayor Tracie Markley! We have contests and prizes for the kids too!
You can participate as an event sponsor, as a booth vendor, or as a participant. Pre-register your dog(s) for the event and enjoy the convenience of our VIP line to quickly receive your Wag Bag and be on your way. Pre-registered participants receive a Wag Bag with a puppy bandana, an event bracelet, a sheet of “Puppy Bucks” redeemable for game play, the Pup Tent event store, face painting, discounts and more! $100 value for only $25! Limited to the first 100 participants. Additional Puppy Bucks available at our registration booth for donation.

Event Elements and Definitions
- “Visit the Vendors” Scavenger Hunt:
- Complimentary Scavenger Hunt card for all guests
- Visit vendor and merchant booths to learn about our local offerings
- Collect a stamp at each booth.
- Collect 15 stamps and drop in the Scavenger Hunt boxes located at The Pup Tent no later than 2:45pm
- Valid entries include a name, phone number and email address
- Grand Prize valued at a minimum of $250
- Winner will be announced and posted at the close of the event. Need not be present to win; winners will be contacted and have seven days post-event to collect prizes
- Raffle:
- Tickets: $5 each
- Drop tickets into the prize buckets of your choice
- Winners posted at 2:00 PM
- Prizes preferred to be picked up by the end of the day
- Need not be present to win; winners will be contacted and have seven days post-event to collect prizes
- Puppy Bucks and Puppy Bucks VIP Packages– Our Event Currency
- Puppy Bucks are the event currency for all activities, games, and The Pup Tent.
- Puppy Bucks VIP Sheets are included in WAG BAGS
- VIP Sheets include $20 in Puppy Bucks, 1 Raffle Ticket, 3 Food Vendor Discount Tickets, and exclusive coupons to local merchants
- Additional Puppy Bucks VIP Sheets are available at registration while supplies last, $20 donation per VIP Sheet
- Puppy Bucks can be obtained at the registration booth or The Pup Tent.
- One dollar donated = 1 Puppy Buck
- Food Vendors are separate from the event offerings and require cash/card, and specially designated discount coupons only
- Wag Bags
- Exclusive event WAG BAGS. A swag bag filled with exclusive Harbor Hounds goodies. Puppy Bandana, event wrist band, Puppy Bucks, Raffle Ticket, Vendor Scavenger Hunt Cards, goodies from event vendors and sponsors, food truck discount ticket, coupons and discounts from local merchants…$50 value.
- Get yours with your $25 online pre-registration and pick it up at the VIP registration booth. Save time in line! Limited to the 1st 150 participants, with priority to online pre-registrants. Exact contents subject to change as merchants are added. Minimum value $100
- Register an additional pup for $10 (receives an additional Puppy Bandana and wrist bracelet.)

- Merchandise: A variety of puppy memorabilia and more
- Exclusive event souvenirs
- Accepts Puppy Bucks: Found in pre-registered WAG BAGS or obtained at the Registration Booth and Pup Tent in exchange for donations

- GNOSH food truck and Icescreamery ice cream
- Cash/card purchases
- Wag Bags include special discount tickets
- Icescreamery offers special event-themed ice cream and dairy-free treats for dogs
- A portion of ice cream sales benefits The Prison Pet Partnership
- Entertainment:
- Live DJ and event emcee entertain event-goers throughout the day
- Stage entertainment and presentations
- Demonstrations and kids’ contests

- Raffle and scavenger hunt winner announcements
